About Bay One
Bay One is written and published by Gary Thomas. The beat is a one-car garage and a small yard — the kind of property where a rider mower is usually the wrong machine and a folding bench is the right one.
What I am
A publisher who reads spec sheets, manuals, and typical U.S. retail listings, then writes planning guides so you can measure twice. I live with the same constraints the site is named for: one bay, not a warehouse shop.
What I am not
- A licensed contractor, electrician, plumber, or HVAC technician.
- A product-testing lab. If a guide mentions a number, it is a published spec or a planning range — not a Bay One dynamometer.
- A referral network. I will not steer you to a trade I have not hired for you.
How a guide gets written
I start with geometry (12×20 bays, 21-inch mower decks, patio footprints), then manufacturer literature, then retailer logistics including the Lowe's 24-hour CJ cookie. Corrections are welcome via contact. If a page is wrong, I would rather fix it than defend a confident error.
Money
Links to Lowe's, Overstock/Beyond, Amazon, and others may earn a commission. That is disclosed in the header, at the top of articles, and on the FTC disclosure page. Placeholders in lib/affiliates.ts do not track until IDs are configured over HTTPS. Privacy details, including CJ cookies, are on Privacy.
