Spring and fall checklist for a small yard and one bay
A quarter-acre calendar: mower, hose, grill cover, mice, and the garage floor — not a 2-acre estate plan.

A small yard and a one-car bay have a calendar. It is not an estate grounds plan. Spring is mower, hose, and grill. Fall is blades, mice, and not storing a wet machine against the house wall. Nothing here is a climate-zone scientific trial — adjust for your frost dates.
Spring
- Pull the mower out and follow its manual for oil, spark plug, or battery charge — not a generic internet recipe.
- Walk the quarter acre once: winter debris, soft spots, a fence picket that will eat a blade.
- Uncover the grill; check the cover for mildew; confirm propane placement.
- Unkink a 50-foot hose instead of buying a 100-foot coil that lives in the walkway.
- Open the garage door on a dry day and sweep salt and sand so it does not grind into floor tiles.
