Privacy
Bay One is a small publisher site. This notice covers cookies, Commission Junction (CJ) affiliate tracking, Amazon Associates, and messages you send via the contact form.
First-party cookies and storage
The cookie banner stores a single preference in localStorage (bayone-cookie-notice-v1) so the banner can stay dismissed on this browser. No account system, no newsletter pixel, no third-party analytics ship with this codebase by default.
Commission Junction tracking
When affiliate IDs are configured, a click to Lowe's or Overstock/Beyond is wrapped in a CJ click URL. CJ and the merchant may then set cookies or similar identifiers to attribute a later purchase.
- Lowe's: 24-hour cookie on CJ. If you buy after that window, the click usually will not credit.
- Overstock / Beyond: cookie length is defined in the CJ advertiser contract. This site does not invent a number.
Until NEXT_PUBLIC_CJ_PID and merchant AIDs are set, retailer buttons open the merchant site without a CJ wrapper. HTTPS on the live site is required before CJ will treat the property as a real publisher destination — see the README.
Amazon Associates
If NEXT_PUBLIC_AMAZON_ASSOCIATES_TAG is set, Amazon product search links include a tag. Amazon may set its own cookies. Typical Associates cookies are short (often 24 hours); confirm in your Associates account.
Contact form
The form opens your mail client to hello@bayone.example. Bay One does not store that message on a server in this application. Email once sent is subject to ordinary email handling.
What we do not sell
This project does not sell personal information. If a hosted deployment later adds analytics or a form backend, this page should be updated before that ships.
Your choices
Decline retailer clicks if you do not want network cookies. Use browser controls to clear cookies. For CJ opt-out practices, use the consumer tools CJ and the merchants publish — Bay One cannot delete a cookie on lowes.com from this domain.
